In this blog I record my encounters. If you have any to share, please email me at godofwealth888@gmail.com. This is not to encourage others to seek fortune from the supernatural but indirectly spreading message about learning or seeking proper ways to offer prayers. Often in our society, methods or procedures for prayers are from hear say or "monkey see monkey do" method which may not be proper. Hopefully thru this, many will contribute articles, pictures, etc as references for others.

土地公 Picture
My new 土地公
Over the years had heard of stories 土地公.....as in how he can bring wealth to house and protect the house. But had never invite one the pray to before; even though I had many different types of dieites in my house before.
Discussed with my parents and they are keen as well.
I did some homework as in how to pray to 土地公 etc etc..... Most important of all, through my many years of having so many different types of dieties... is to find some one who is able to help me set up an altar for my 土地公.
In an usual occassion, I had an oppurtunity to meet this guy. Though young (to me), but I "buy" his reasoning!!!
It took quite a while to set up the altar as no good dates were available; till one date which is just an "above average day"; we decided to invite and setup 土地公 in my house.
Had wanted to setup before 2008 new year!!!!!
So why i use this master service? One thing special is his explaination of this diety - 土地公. He had even print out an article and ask me to read and understand him more. As such this leads to why prayer and setting up method seems "different" from usual practice we had always observe here in Singapore.
'Cos many times, those "masters" who help to set up will take short cuts etc.... leading to some procedures of setting up been "lost" when these masters pass their skills to the next generations.
His method include observing the feng shui of the house and the sitting and facing of my main altar (Guan Yin).... cos we cannot move or change this postion. With this knowledge of direction, he combine with my BaZi to pick good dates for me to carry out prayers etc...
Also he taught us or should say advise us on type of prayer offer items and joss paper to use; and of course the most important part....how to pray and ask for blessing.
Note that (picture shown) under the concrete slab which 土地公 usually sit, there is "FU" and ancient coins. This often is not done in local practice!
Last of all, he reminded us... to return any promise been made!
Set up went smoothly and normal.
Master reminded me that it will be good to pick another good lucky day to pray again so as to increase the "power" of 土地公.

Up to date, (did a little homework last night) the following are the number of prizes I my self had won since CNY (after set up 土地公).
1st prize ... 3 times
2nd prize ... 5 times
3rd prize ... 3 times
Starter ... 7 times
Consolation ... 7 times
This does no include some other "secret prizes" my dad may had won himself.So how much had i won up to date? Don't know yet....trying to retrieve records last night...once I gather all; will post later.
To many this is un-believeable; in this 2 months period? I myself cannot believe it also....thus now trying tp put all this into proper record thru this blog.
Also, this is to remind readers that there are a lot more proper way to offer your prayer to any dieties / Gods or like wise and request for blessing from them. In my 30 over years, I notice in our society, not many know or learn the more proper way to offer prayers. (my own opinion!) Many times we learn from our older generation, and often they learn from the earlier generation. This practice is often hear say or like wise. With many turning to making money out of such prayers practice, we are often lead to a wrong track or had learn / practice the improper method.
So which is the proper method. Answer is simple. Method that works for you is the correct one.
"廢話" many will say.
Just as this master told me. A good lucky day for him may not be good for you. A good lucky day picked from the "tong sheng" may not be good for you!!!!! As often (for sake of convenience), the person will tell you its a good lucky day as stated in "tong sheng" but that is just a general one for all. If you look further into BaZi of yours, your BaZi may clash on that day and is just of no use!!!
Indeed, my insist of setting up the 土地公 altar before CNY on a just average day....seems to have average result as well!
Nothing was won 2 weeks after CNY....but finally some personal numbers came in after mid month of FEB. But were small prizes and winning was not enough to cover my heavy bets.
I lost quite a bit.

Before I forgot. Had wanted to "beg" for numbers during setting up the altar but on advise from master I did not. As he told me..... Everyone has got numerous personal numbers to buy weekly... house, car, phone, NRIC....etc ; yet you still want to increase your burden of buying more? So just ask for blessing of good fortune through what you have! So we just follow this few sets of numbers which we always buy...
1. house number
2. car number
3. HP number
4. child birth cert
5. My "cai shen Fu" number
6. The number on picture of "cai shen ye" which i invited on 2nd day of CNY
7. and number which we came across during prayers
There after, I received a call from master. Told him about the winning and apologise that I cannot give him ang bao yet as lost is more then winning! He told me that he had picked several dates that is suitable to offer prayers again as the day of setting up is not the best for both house and myself. I agreed. Note that this intended prayer is already in mind during setting up as master did remind me to offer another prayer after CNY on a good lucky day!

We picked the dates and bought all necc. offer items. But forgot to remind master about the Cai Shen which I invited on 2nd day of CNY.
Master told me we can invite Cai shen again in proper way on the same day but will need another set of offering fro him. He reminded me that Cai Shen cannot "sit" on same level as 土地公 and will need to put in a more proper position.
But we simply had got no more space!
The day came. Master called me early in the moring to cancel prayer!!!!! WHY? naturally first thing I ask.
He is not feeling well; he said! To me I think so what? This is what he explain.....
Same as when we bring a diety to " Kai Guang" by a master, verbally he chant and put red dots on it but mentally he cannot concentrate and think of geylang experience last night (for example) what is been induced into the diety?
So I got what he mean and we postphone to next available date. Disappointed!
Finally the day came, prayer went smoothly.
Master also recommend several possible position to let the cai shen sit. But this will mean major movement / adjustment on main altar. (meaning spending money lah!)
No choice, he told me. You invited him into your house you have to offer prayers to him as a respect for the whole year. This is not a toy which you buy bring back play for while and put in cupboard for the rest of the year , he mentioned.
Ok point taken, and we will plan for it. Life went on as per normal. No special asking for numbers or fortune, just normal daily burning of incense paper to 土地公.
But 4D days... WED ... SAT ... SUN was happy days!

Next came a funny accident we read on the chinese paper. A car rammed into a shop house in chinatown while reversing into a carpark. Since my dad office is at shenton way area, some aunties told him that the car number was 899. So while we were joking about it and how to buy with 3 numbers only; my mum say add 1 lah....my hand phone number mah!!!
So we spring into action.... one went down to queue up while others collect bet and pass to him.....
Hahaha....cos there are too many numbers to buy and we hardly will buy each other mobile number except our own.

What a lucky fortune indeed! every one win a 1st prize this week!

With all the wonder ful winnings. We thought of another prayer. This time is to give thanks and appreciation for the fortune gained. Master agreed and picked a date.
Mean while we make preparation of offer items. Master had also reminded us that offer items need not be elaborate as what he had seen before. simple offering is good enough and use the money to donate to needy instead.
So we bought simple items as per required.
Also we bought a "FO zhu" (chanting beads) for our Guan Yin as well and ask for a name card (cos i need another chanting beads) but was told she run out. She gave us a receipt instead... looking at the receipt, it was all in chinese and the layout / format of the receipt do not look like is printed locally. It is printed in china; she said. She is using the old reciept booklet she had back in china while doing business there before she came here. To us is an usual encounter. Mean while ask master to "Kai Guan" for us and was told that the date picked is suitable to do so.
The day came, master helped to invite the cai shen and 土地公 to "enjoy" a simple offering for them and burn much incense paper to them. In the incense packing, there is this lucky number card (is always there when we buy incense paper, and number seems always the same..... 1688 lah, 3838 lah....always those good sounding numbers lah).
But master ask us do we want to try? I said always the same number...no need to rub off the silver coat i can predict the number also..... Master laughed and ask us if we are keen to buy this number. YES.. of course. So he pick it up, chant .... round it above the incense sticks.....etc etc. Then leave it on top of the wealth vase. Next he ask us to ask for blessing.
Then, master help us to 'kai guang' the chanting beads and ask us to personally put on the beads on our Guan Yin.
All had to be done within the 2 hours. All were smooth and happy. We gave master another big ang bao as a appreciation for the fortune gained and this time round we paid him a small fee for the prayer.
